I ended up doing a full restore and now things are humming along nicely. Turning sync on and off didn't help, neither did power cycling or hard resets.

On my Mac, I had to delete the following folders in order for Notes to become useable (Make sure you close the Notes app first.)Īlso, my iPhone refused to update Notes for a few days. I tried to disconnect Notes from icloud, but the damaged had been done. The "Recently Deleted" folder appeared with over 3000 notes in it. My other devices had already started syncing the new notes (ipad 2 and iphone 5s) and promptly ran out of space. Notes was also incredibly sluggish at this point, so I decided to delete the imported notes. I restarted the import, which seemed to work fine, but now I had duplicates show up. I left the import to run on my Mac (MacBook Pro, 13inch Mid 2012 - 2.5Ghz, 16G ram) and it crashed on the import after it got about 1/2 way through. I tried using the new import feature in Notes to migrate my notes from Evernote a few days ago.
